Thinking for yourself

GURU SPOTTING
…………….. “There’s no such thing as bad news if you really understand what happened.” I attended a seminar with a very famous life-coach who said that. I really appreciate knowing that even though it doesn’t always make sense to me …….. RK
……………. Yes, your famous life coach was your unassuming guru with that insight, RK. It’s a heavy one to absorb, yet it makes it a lot easier to handle the tough stuff of life when we search for the strawberry in the midst of the ashes …….

Hi Rob,
Do you mind me calling you by your first name? My mother constantly tells me that I don’t know how to think for myself because I am always asking my friends to decide what I should do next. Her tip to me is to start thinking independently. What do you think I should do?
Thank you for any insight you can give me, Dawn K.
Hi Dawn
I don’t know you personally, but if your mother’s assessment is accurate, then she’s on to something. Your mother is saying that you do not make up your own mind, you let others make your mind up for you. If that is true, Dawn, then you do have some work to do.
Nothing is more important than learning to think for yourself. That is the grandest of all Declarations of Independence.
What would chain you to allowing others to make your decisions for you? Do you feel you cannot rely on yourself? It’s your life, get involved in your life. Right Dawn? And the best way to start is to trust that no one has the right answers for you like you do. After all, it’s your life. Right?
Blessings to you Dawn, Rob

Hi folks,
If you’re going to think for yourself, you must have a strong sense for who YOU are. How are you to think for yourself if you don’t know what you value? Have you ever found yourself allowing others to make your decisions for you? Indeed you want to be flexible and get other points of view, but don’t be so foolish as to give someone else the authority to decide who you are and what you’re up to. Make sense?
Blessings & love to all of you, Rob
Ps Thinking for yourself means putting yourself first when it comes to choosing what you get involved in.
