Stop putting on your act

May 20, 2019 -- Posted by : Rob

Hello everyday, ordinary, unassuming guru seeking friends,

….. “Why are you so stubborn Sis? If only you’d be a little more flexible.”  My older sister would always tell me that when we’d get into some stupid argument. Now, years later, I see what a great everyday guru she was being. I really was a stubborn brat.  Merriam K.

….. I love that, Merriam. Yes indeed, sometimes an ordinary guru is right there in our face, and we do not notice for years. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Mr. White,

I love what you say about us being ourselves, but I don’t know how to do that. I feel like I am putting on a big act, like I’m a phony, but I can’t get out of it. Any insights?

Thank you for your blogs, I really like them.  Michelle

Hi Michelle,

What if you were keenly interested in examining yourself? Imagine examining yourself as much as you examine your friends or work colleagues. What if you truly looked at how you’d put yourself together?

What if you stopped trying so hard to improve yourself, and instead decided to be different than the “self” you’re trying to improve? What if there is another “self” in there that is looking for sweet liberty to express yourself naturally with no act! What would that be like?

What if you were to imagine you have many strengths and talents that you’ve never ever explored yet? What if you make it your mission to explore more of yourself?

What if your purpose for being here was not to learn about the world, but to learn about yourself … explore all there is of you? What if that is your raison d’etre?

What if you pledged to be open-minded in every situation? What if you were willing to say, “perhaps I am wrong with my point of view” every now and again?

Can you imagine how you’d show up in life if you did that, Michelle?

Blessings to you Michelle, Rob

Hey folks,

The most enriching thing you can ever do is take the time to really get to know the authentic you. Not your act, but the real “you” under that act. That’s when things really begin to pop for you. Life gets very exciting and you find all kinds of hidden talents you never thought you possessed.

Blessings & love to all of you, Rob

PS. Remember always … be your own best friend. That’s when you never betray the authentic, ever again.
